Of all vampires, the Gangrel are closest to their inner nature. These nomadic loners spurn the constraints of society, preferring the comfort of the wilderness. How they avoid the wrath of the werewolves is unknown, but perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the Gangrel, themselves, are known as shapeshifters.

The Gangrels are closely tied to the Rom (Gypsies). Many even go as far as adopting their cultural speech patterns and mannerisms. Many Gangrel and Ravnos harbor ill-will towards each other for their -usage- of the Gyspy tribes to continue their bloodline.

Nickname: Outlanders

Appearance: They tend to be the rugged type of stylish sense, tends to set them apart from society on the outset.

Havens: Gangrel are nomadic, so they tend not to have a permanent haven, unless they are quite happy with the area they are in. With the ability of Protean, at the proper level, they are able to find their own shelter in the earth.

Background: They Embrace for various reasons. They are VERY select in their progeny however. They tend to make sure to Embrace loners who have the physical and emotional resiliency to survive the shock of the Change. Not all Gangrel stick around to teach their progeny. Many Gangrel fledgelings can be found learning on their own or finding out about Unlife through experience versus training.

Character Creation: Gangrel often have similar natures and demeanors, as they rarely rely on subterfuge to get their way. Physical Attributes and Talents of Skills are common among Gangrel. They often have Allies (Gypsies) or Mentor as Background, but rarely have high levels of Influence or Resources.

Clan Disciplines: Animalism, Fortitude and Protean

Weaknesses: Gangrel are very close to the Beast Within. As they succumb to it, it leaves its mark on their bodies. Every time a Gangrel Frenzies, she gains an animalistic feature.

Organization: Generally there is no organization to speak of, though a few small gatherings of Gangrel run in packs, much like the Werewolves.
